Village life centres around the busy plaza, which is edged by bars and restaurants. Here you can gather for the many fiestas throughout the year, including international food festival, Christmas fiestas and the October parade. The village has a pretty old church, which is at the centre of village life. The Semana Santa (Easter) parade is a real highlight, when the streets are paved with flowers and the priest and people from the village reenact the resurrection. 

If you are looking for a place where you can really get involved with the Spanish way of life, while also having neighbours of many nationalities, Los Montesinos could be the place for you. The blue flag beaches of Guardamar Del Segura are about 15 minutes by car and the beach town of Torrevieja around the same distance.
